Hove Parfumeur

When I was in New Orleans for a wedding last week I happen to stumble across Hove Parfumeur Ltd.  on Chartres St. I have always wanted to go to a real parfumeur and was very excited to check out this cute boutique.

There is a description of all the scents and you can try them on to see how they work with your skin.

All of the perfumes are made from essential oils on site. It was really neat to see all of the different bottles of essential oils and how they created each unique scent.

I bought two different scents:
Gardenia – Romantic moods and bright colors are complimented by the languid sweetness and provocative high notes of this well-known flower fragrance.

Rose Geranium – The crushed leaves and not the flowers of the Rose Geranium produce a fragrance with the beautiful warmth of a rose heightened by a note of bittersweet pertness.

After New Orleans I went to visit my friend in Houston and fell in love with the idea of getting matching antique perfume bottles for my new signature scents. We searched high and low and finally found these cute vintage crystal bottles with a rose design on the top. I was very lucky to find a matching set. They are going to look so pretty on my dresser and I will always remember my trip every time I put on my perfume.

I have always had a slight obsession with perfume and trying new scents. I like the idea of wearing something unique and handmade. In the near future I hope to visit Paris and take a tour of a parfumeur.

Do you have a signature scent?
